I felt like this today…

Lester has a hardware problem

So, I am out at a client’s place, working on installing a USB video adapter.  Bad idea from the get-go I think, but that’s what they have.  I put in the CD, install the drivers, and follow the instructions.  Plug the thing into the USB port.  Then it says it can’t find a particular driver having to do with a USB to PCI adapter.  It’s right…it can’t find it.  Neither can I.  It’s not on the CD, nor on the manufacturer’s web site.  Or anywhere else.  After an hour, I give up.  Fortunately, I have a little more restraint than Lester up there!

Late night with Bin Laden

Posted by: John    in Fun Stuff

I am not one to watch late night TV.  I think the best of that era ended in 1992 when Johnny Carson retired.  God knows what he would have come up with when bin Laden assumed room temperature.  However, some of these are pretty good.

Jimmy Kimmel

“The death of Osama bin Laden last Sunday has apparently damaged our relationship with al Qaeda.  Al Qaeda has released a statement vowing to make America pay for bin Laden’s death.  I’m pretty sure we did pay for his death.  We paid for the whole thing and even took care of the funeral arrangements.  Maybe a thank you would be nice.”

Jay Leno

“Osama bin Laden’s supporters want to rename the Arabian Sea where his body was dumped to Martyr Sea.  Really?  Martyr Sea?  Hinding in your bedroom for six years?  How about Chicken of the Sea?”

“Osama bin Laden is in the ocean.  How ironic.  Once again surrounded by seals.”

“Bin Laden was buried at sea.  Or as Dick Cheney calls it, ‘the ultimate waterboarding.’ ”

“Osama bin Laden was apparently shot twice in the face.  It looks like Dick Cheney may have been involved.”

“Osama bin Laden had money and telephone numbers sewn into his clothes.  Apparently we go him just as we was on his way to summer camp.”

David Letterman

“How about those Navy Seals.  We’re getting our money’s worth there.  They broke into Osama bin Laden’s compound with 12-foot walls topped by barbed wire and fired a warning shot into his head.”

“Bin Laden lived in this compound in Pakistan with all of his wives for 6 years.  So he did suffer.”

“Bin Laden’s wives didn’t have it too bad.  Looking at the pictures of the inside of the compound, it doesn’t look like any of them EVER had to do housework.”

Craig Ferguson

“Apparently, members of Al Qaeda are online slamming the U.S.  I don’t understand why they are so upset.  Everyone in Al Qaeda just got a promotion.”
