Covered Bridge Pics

There is a cool old covered bridge East of Albany. While we were visiting my sister we went over and looked at it and the cute little park that was right there by the bridge.

Well, a couple weeks ago the Impala decided to blow a head gasket for some unknown reason.  So, it sits in the driveway while I decide what I really want to do with it.  Probably fix it and give it to Crystal to drive.  But, in the meantime, I needed a vehicle.

We decided to trade in the 5th wheel trailer as we never seem to get to use it much.  One of the dealerships in town was able to take it in trade.  The sales guy really wanted to sell us a Hyundai Sonata, and he had a ton of them on the lot.  Fortunately, we did not make a deal right away, and the one we were looking at got sold before we got down there with the trailer.  (I mean, the Sonata we were looking at was a 2007 with only 23K miles on it, but I wasn’t overly impressed with it.)

What we did find was a 2005 Toyota Camry.  98,000 miles, but the car looks nearly new and had obviously been taken care of.  Toyotas will run next to forever even if you aren’t 100% on your maintenance, but this car is nearly perfect.  It has the 4 cylinder 2.4L engine in front of a 5 speed automatic overdrive transmission.  It gets moving quick but engine speed at 65 mph is about 2000 rpm.  And it was $2000 less than the Sonata we were looking at.  All around I think we did good.

Anyway, here’s what it looks like!

A nice clean car in great shape that should get me around for quite a few years!

PS:  I filled up the tank on Friday…first goaround was 25.4 mpg!  Not bad for mostly city driving!
